Rapid Response & Code Blue Simulations
Participate in group practice sessions based on actual patient cases that prior residents have experienced. These will be take place outside of usual didactics, as either an AM or PM half-day session assigned during electives and selectives.
Procedure Training
Brand new equipment and supplies that match those on the wards are available to residents for practicing procedures in which trainees are expected to become proficient. Some examples include venipuncture, arterial blood sampling, central venous catheter insertion, intraosseous access, and endotracheal intubation.
POCUS
Point of care ultrasound is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the most useful examination supplements to support diagnostic decision making. Residents complete SonoSim modules individually to become familiar with common concepts, then come together in group sessions for practical application assisted by ultrasound-compatible mannequins.
